Courtney “DJ Queen” Key is a Washington, D.C.–bred DJ and music producer making powerful waves as an advocate for body positivity, self-love, and representation in music. Born on March 28, 1991, during an era when women were boldly reshaping male-dominated industries, DJ Queen embodies that same fearless energy—injecting authenticity, passion, and purpose into every sound she creates.
Her musical journey began in 2012, opening doors to producing tracks and soundscapes for local indie artists throughout the D.C. area, including collaborations with community staple Chop Beatz (Mr. Beatz)—a respected creative force within D.C.’s iconic Go-Go music culture. Through these early experiences, DJ Queen developed a deep appreciation for music as both cultural expression and community connection.
From 2012 to the present, DJ Queen has expanded her influence beyond the studio, working with nationally recognized brands such as Ashley Stewart and Torrid, while also collaborating with iconic plus-size dance collectives including Pretty Big Movement (NYC) and Fat Girls Dance, among others. Her work consistently centers inclusivity, confidence, and celebration of all bodies.
Now based in Atlanta, DJ Queen continues her mission to build a plus-size musical empire while solidifying her place as a leading female DJ creating real impact. Inspired by trailblazers such as Melissa Viviane Jefferson (Lizzo), she challenges industry norms and actively combats body shaming through her platform and performances.
